Deciphering the Analysis of the Genetic Diversity of Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) from Various Regions of Origin in Java, Indonesia

ABSTRACT: The genetic improvement of a plant to produce high-yielding varieties depends on variability. It is widely known that the mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) does not have variability because it has an apomictic reproductive mechanism. Analysis diversity can be carried out by analysis similarities and clusters between accessions plants or with their close relatives Garcinia genus. This research was analyze 50 at production centers in four provinces Java, Indonesia (Banten, West Central East Java provinces) using RAPD-based primers. amplification revealed total 30 amplicons, 28 as polymorphic two monomorphic, average percentage polymorphism 72.22%. results PCR-RAPD visualization bands measuring 300 bp - 1500 bp. dendrogram shows grouping all types G. L. general. primer used amplify samples properly. Genetic variation occurs coefficient values ranging from 25% 100%. study also explains pattern spread for first time. These reference conserving future breeding.
